the perfect back to school snack...

Monday my boys headed back to school!  They hate starting on Monday because it makes for a LONG first week back!  I agree!  It was a big day for both of them!  One starting high school and the other starting middle school.  One going from having just a couple teachers a day to having 7 classes and the other going from 7 classes a day to a block schedule (4 classes).

So I had lots of surprises for them when they got off the bus at 3:20.  I was waiting on the porch for them to hear all about there day!  Thankfully they both had a wonderful day!  So I surprised them with Pizza Bagels and Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies.  For supper I made Pepperoni Pizza Casserole--which they love, too!  Then we went to the park for a walk and when we got back I surprised them with some new!

My boys LOVE Cookie Dough and I love Pinterest!  On Pinterest I found the most amazing recipe!  Monster Cookie Dough Dip!! Yes, you read it right!  This dip is so good and so easy to make.

It was/is a huge hit here at our house!  Below is my version of the recipe, but you can click on the link above to get the original recipe.

Monster Cookie Dough Dip
(my version)

Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup butter, slightly softened
 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
A king size bag of Plain M&M's
1-2 cups of Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Mix the first 3 ingredients together until well blended.  Add powdered sugar, brown sugar, flour and vanilla.  Add M&M's and chocolate chips.  Use a wooden spoon to mix it all up and put in a dip bowl.  Chill a couple hours.  Serve with Graham Sticks or just eat with a spoon.

I used less peanut butter because my boys love plain ole cookie dough and I omitted the oats all together.  They basically just make it thicker.  Without them it is more creamy like real cookie dough.  I also used less M&M's and the mini chips.  My boys love it!  They have come home and eat some everyday this week!

Enjoy and have a wonderful week!
